He's been doing well and Dr. Tanaka showed me pictures of his scan. I think his brain is singing the Hallelujah chorus now that it has some extra room. Dr. Tanaka felt that the reason his tumor got to be the size it was without any serious warning signs was because he had the third ventricle surgery when he was younger. Now this of course means that no one is to blame he had a problem when he was young with hydrocephalus that was fixed by that surgery and I am grateful for the work that team of doctors did to help him at that time and anyway it's not about looking back; it's about looking ahead!! Technology advances everyday and the things they are able to do today will probably be obsolete tomorrow. I say this while I type on the laptop because I'll be danged if I know how to use that I-pad!! Thanks for the love and prayers and support WE CAN DO THIS!! And I certainly mean WE. I can tell by his snoring that he is not just sleeping from a med-induced sleep. This is the real deal and I'm glad that it finally has. Now he's less like a puppet and more like a boy.

LATER

Today has been a great day. They pulled the lumbar drain out because the swelling in his head has gone down A LOT and they no longer have to drain his spinal fluid. They also took out his arterial line in his foot. He did have to get 2 units of blood inside this line last night because his blood pressure was high and so was his heart rate. Now that they have done that, both have come down. They also removed the bandage from the incision spot on his head. If you make a big C with your hand and put it above your right ear then add a few inches on each side, then that would be his wound. Not sure how many staples he has but i will count them later. His drain in his abdomen was taken out yesterday and he has been working with PT and OT keeping his muscles strong.

Progress is still moving quicker than expected and he has most certainly not lost his sense of Arion. I talked to
Dr. Tanaka last night and she said that when they opened him up it was almost like a path was opened up for her to be able to move through to get to the tumor. TELL ME AGAIN PRAYERS DONT WORK. Without faith and hope, we would have nothing; and without exception, Heavenly Father has given us an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the successes we have had along the way no matter how big or small they seem. Thank you again for all the prayers and blessings for everything that everyone has done to help us. By the time his hair grows back in, he will be back to the same Arion as he was before he went in. Well same as now just a lot feistier and a whole lot stronger and with a head that will be a little smaller.
