creeping back into your lives . . .

Like a pervasive and tenacious vine, I'm going to try to creep back into your lives and pretend as though my extended absence needs no explanation. A good friend of mine, who ran the drug and alcohol treatment center at which I worked, once told me, "Never explain, justify, or defend your life." That has always been difficult for me. When I meet people, or talk with those I already know, I tend to OVERspeak. My only boundaries of sharing information involve hurting someone else. I never intentionally cause anyone pain and if I do, it is out of carelessness and not thoughtlessness.
With all of that in mind, I will tell you that I have been doing my best to thoughtfully care for one flower of my extensive garden. In doing so, I became depleted and ill. There comes a point when you have done all that you can do and it is then up to the plant whether to wither or thrive.
I am now back and in full bloom and ready to rock this magazine . . . with your help, of course.
In the next few installments, I will be featuring the work of Herbie J Pilato, a thoughtful and thorough author who has painstakingly chronicled the life of Elizabeth Montgomery, everyone's favorite witch, in two separate volumes--Twitch Upon a Star and The Essential Elizabeth Montgomery. He has also researched the works of many of our favorite classic television blossoms—Sally Field, Goldie Hawn, and Mary Tyler Moore, just to name a few, and presented them in a lovely book--Glamour, Gidgets, and the Girl Next Door.
Following these excerpts and reviews, I will present my interview with Herbie J.
As they say in preparation for a classic
commercial break, stay tuned for more!
