just listen!
By Linda Harriet Iser
God is determined to get through to us, one way or the other.
My left knee has been "catching" for the last few months when I go down the stairs, and was painful to kneel on. I had my ACL replaced in that knee 15 years ago, and I was afraid I messed it up somehow, so I hadn't been to the Dr.
The fact that I'm a massage therapist and know I should have seen one weeks ago made me hesitant to share this story. How does it look when you don't practice what you preach, right?
I was cleaning today—like deep cleaning. I was up and down the stairs all day. My knee was getting achy, so I got finished up then went in my room to rest for a bit. When I got there, I realized that I had started to strip the bed. I was exhausted, I didn't want to crawl across the bed to pull the far corner of the sheet off the mattress .
Then a little voice in my head said, and I quote, "Strip the @#$% bed, Linda". So I did!
When I started to back up to get off the bed, my knee popped and it hurt like the dickens. I was done! I just ignored the pain and hobbled to the bathroom.
Suddenly, I realized, my knee didn't hurt anymore . . . not to go down the stairs or to the touch! I looked up and said, "Thank you!".
Always listen to that little voice in your head—9 times out of 10 it's really God whispering to you. If you don't listen when he whispers, he'll throw a "@#$%" in there to get your attention. I'm one happy camper.
